Nonprofit Leader and Social Entrepreneur

Hello, I’m Anita. For 20 years, I devoted my time to nonprofit organizations’ development.

I began my professional journey in an international nonprofit organization, which propelled my career forward. For nearly two decades, I devoted my time to working and volunteering in various nonprofit organizations, particularly in the management of my own disability organization, Poraka Nova. Through my efforts, I managed over 70 international projects funded by different European and international donors, allowing me to communicate and lead teams consisting of individuals from a plethora of countries and continents.

My interest in social innovation and social entrepreneurship has driven me to develop and implement several projects, including the Social Innovation Network and mPreneur – Social Mobile Entrepreneurship. These initiatives harness the power of technology and communications to create a broad social impact. As a mentor, I have guided numerous young entrepreneurs, particularly those with disabilities, on how to develop their own social enterprises. Additionally, I have spearheaded various social enterprises for the benefit of the underprivileged, including accessible tourism, consulting services for digital transformation in the nonprofit sector, and other social services.

Currently, I am developing an innovative concept for a global network, which will focus on social enterprises and social innovation initiatives and solutions. My ongoing commitment to social justice and advocacy for marginalized communities has led me to form the Self-Advocacy Influencer initiative. With a goal to expand the initiative to a global level, I plan to create a platform for training individuals worldwide on topics such as advocacy and lobbying, marginalized communities, social justice, and social innovation.

My Vision

Over the years, having interacted with diverse organizations and individuals in the civil society sector, it is evident to me that these organizations are in need of transformation. Digital transformation is no longer optional, and nonprofits must actively participate in technological advancements and social innovations. Through my lifelong learning passion and digital awareness, I have established Modern Nonprofits, a consulting service that provides guidance to nonprofit organizations, such as CSOs, public institutions, NGOs, international nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and non-formal groups, on how to amplify their social impact.
